Natalie is a well-known specialist dealing in all aspects of family law but with particular emphasis on divorce, financial settlements and pre/post nuptial agreements. Described as “formidable” by independent directory, Legal 500, and “strong but fair” by Chambers and Partners, Natalie is “approachable, pragmatic and good at translating the complex.”
An experienced solicitor having practised family law in Liverpool for over 15 years, Natalie joined Hall Brown Family Law in 2026 to establish and head up the Liverpool office. This follows two years as head of the Liverpool family team at Freeths following 16 years at Brabners where she trained. Prior to that, Natalie was called to the Bar by Lincoln’s Inn in 2007.
Natalie has acted for and advised a wide range of clients including business owners, owners of landed estates with inherited and dynastic wealth, sports and media personalities, directors, farm owners, lottery winners, members of the judiciary and other professionals. She takes a proactive and pragmatic approach, focusing on negotiated settlements and non-court dispute resolution where possible, providing legal support alongside mediation and arbitration, and representation at court where necessary.
Her specialism is complex financial remedy proceedings involving shareholder disputes, companies, pensions, trusts and offshore assets. She is known to be a pragmatist and straight talker who can get to the crux of a matter quickly. Natalie is known to be “unflappable”, “personable” and for “taking the heat out of the matters instead of inflaming them”.
As well as financial settlements on divorce, Natalie also deals with wealth protection agreements including pre-nups, post-nups and cohabitation agreements, private children matters (including a specialism in internal and international relocation), financial provision for children under Schedule 1 Children Act and dealing with disputes arising from the breakdown of cohabiting relationships.
Natalie is recognised as a leader in her field having been ranked in Chambers and Partners since 2021 and in Legal 500 since 2020. Described as “exceptional” by Chambers and Partners and “a voice of reason” by Legal 500, Natalie prides herself on client service and finding outcome-focused solutions for clients. Due to her pragmatic attitude, she is a “go to” name in Liverpool for achieving speedy and sensible resolutions.
Natalie is a trained mental health first aider and utilises this to support clients as much as possible.
Natalie is an active member of Resolution and former Secretary of Merseyside Young Professionals. She actively takes part organising and running both networking and charity events across the city. She sits of the Board of the Sefton Park Palm House Preservation Trust, Professional Liverpool and the Liverpool Sportswoman’s Lunch.
