A calmer, quicker, and more cost-effective way to resolve family disputes – without the need to go to court.
Mediation is a private, non-confrontational process tailored to the needs of both participants. It is often quicker, more amicable, and less stressful than resolving disagreements through the court process allowing participants to retain control over the outcome. As the cost of mediation is shared between participants it can also be a more affordable alternative to court proceedings.
At Hall Brown we offer a bespoke mediation service to assist with disputes over finances, children, and other family matters. Our experienced, accredited mediators guide participants through every step of the process, helping them reach fair and workable outcomes that both parties can reasonably live with.
We offer a bespoke Child-Inclusive Mediation service for all matters relating to children. This approach supports separating families in developing a co-parenting relationship in a non-confrontational manner—placing the voice of the child at the heart of the conversation.
This is best suited for high-conflict situations and complex, high-net-worth financial cases. It is an adapted model of traditional mediation but unlike traditional mediation (where all information must be openly shared) Hybrid Mediation allows for private discussions, giving participants greater comfort, particularly in high conflict or emotionally charged cases. Participants can also have their legal advisors present, allowing them to receive immediate legal advice during sessions. The session often takes place in separate rooms, which is beneficial for vulnerable clients or those in cases involving domestic abuse, with the ability to have no contact at all.
Finally, Hybrid Mediation allows other professionals to be involved. These can be early neutral evaluators, financial neutrals, therapists, social workers, divorce coaches or forensic accountants – whoever is needed to support participants in reaching agreement. Our Hybrid Mediation service boasts a 95% success rate.
Shuttle mediation is a process where the mediator meets with each participant separately, rather than facilitating a joint discussion in the same room. This approach is particularly helpful in high-conflict situations where direct communication may be difficult or emotionally charged. The mediator moves between the two participants, ensuring that each person can speak freely, feel heard, and have their views accurately conveyed. We offer shuttle mediation both in person and virtually via Teams or Zoom. We can also arrange staggered start and finish times to further avoid any overlap, and we’re happy to make reasonable adjustments to ensure the experience is as comfortable and supportive as possible for everyone involved.
