Melanie has over 20 years’ experience as a family lawyer. She prides herself as being constructive and pragmatic whilst also striving to deliver the best outcome for her clients.
Prior to joining Hall Brown Family Law, Melanie was at Irwin Mitchell where she previously worked with Alison Fernandes, Martin Loxley and Zoe Round.
Melanie specialises in complex financial settlement cases and has a particular interest in wealth protection in the form of nuptial agreements and cohabitation / living together agreements. The complex financial settlement cases Melanie conducts often include high value cases involving business assets with multifaceted structures, high value pension assets, and cases requiring close working of lawyers in different specialisms and other professionals including accountants. Indeed, Melanie has excellent relationships with other professionals and frequently works together on cases to achieve the best possible result for clients.
Alongside Melanie’s financial practice, she also advises clients in connection with private children disputes including difficult cases involving parental alienation.
Melanie is particularly well known for her attention to detail and meticulous preparation along with a compassionate approach to clients for which she has received glowing testimonials from clients. As a result, Melanie has become a trusted advisor for many former clients, who often return to her when needing further advice or recommendations for other professional advisors.
