Hall Brown Family Law has described yet another clean sweep of the country’s leading legal industry rankings as further evidence of its sustained excellence.

The boutique practice has once again been included in a list of the 250 best law firms in England and Wales compiled by The Times.

It means that Hall Brown is one of the few specialist family firms to feature in the classification each year since the table was first published in 2018.

Publication of the Times’ classification follows the release of tables by Chambers and Partners, Legal 500, eprivateclient and Doyle’s Guide, all of which placed Hall Brown in the top tier of family law operators.

Hall Brown co-founder and Senior Partner Sam Hall said that the Times’ news had capped a “perfect” 2026, during which the firm celebrated the tenth anniversary of its launch.

“This really has been a year to remember in so many ways.

“Even though we have had the good fortunate of being included in the legal profession rankings before, we have certainly never taken that recognition for granted.

“The achievements of everyone within the firm every year since we first opened our doors almost sets a benchmark for the 12 months to follow.

“We have not just seen consistent growth in terms of our caseload and our physical footprint but progression in the performance of our colleagues.

“That is tribute to their ambition and their sense of commitment to giving clients the highest standard of support possible.

“What is most impressive is that this sustained excellence is not just something demonstrated by our senior legal and support staff.

“Our more junior colleagues have immediately grasped the importance of living up to the standards which have been set.

“The collective effort is what keeps us in rankings like those drawn up by The Times and augurs very well for the future too.”

The Times’ ranking is based on independent research conducted on the newspaper’s behalf by the international market research firm, Statista.

It surveyed nearly 4,000 solicitors and barristers in England, Wales and Scotland, asking them to recommend the best law firms across 28 different disciplines, including business, public and private client specialisms.

Hall Brown was one of only a handful of boutique practices to feature among the 69 listed firms which work in family law.

Feedback in some of the other legal directories has underlined why Hall Brown has become one of the country’s elite family law operators since launching in April 2016.

Chambers and Partners explained that Hall Brown offers “first-class service”, with all its work being prepared “impeccably”.

Authors of the Legal 500 classification, meanwhile, stated that “the strength and depth of this team deservedly makes them a national force”.

The listings come at the end of a milestone year for Hall Brown which began with the addition of its latest office – in Liverpool – to its headquarters in Manchester and other sites in London, Leeds, Sheffield and Birmingham.

In addition to seeing all six of Hall Brown’s offices and many of its lawyers singled out for praise in the legal rankings, the firm was named among the UK’s 10 Best medium-sized Places to Work in April for the third year in a row.

It was also chosen as one of the country’s four best workplaces for women.

The recognition has been rounded out with a series of collective and individual award triumphs.

In October, Hall Brown claimed the Niche Law Firm of the Year title at the Yorkshire Legal Awards just 12 months after taking the Family Team of the Year prize at the same competition.

The firm triumphed in the Family Law Firm (High Net Worth) category at the PAM eprivateclient Excellence Awards this autumn and has also been named as a finalist in two categories at the forthcoming LexisNexis UK Family Law Awards.

Organisers have shortlisted Hall Brown as a contender for both the Family Law Firm of the Year – Regional, and Financial Remedies Team of the Year prizes.

Prizes for those categories and the other titles on offer will be handed out during an awards ceremony at London’s Park Plaza Westminster Bridge hotel on the 18th of this month.

The firm’s standing has driven a continuous growth in client numbers its services and enabled it to attract lawyers with a proven pedigree and outstanding potential. It now has 85 employees in total, including 65 lawyers.
